6 July Blood Results

Chloe had her latest blood tests done yesterday and the results were pretty awesome!

Chloe’s Paediatrician decided to check a few of her other levels so it wasn’t just a heel prick blood test this time unfortunately.  They took it from her arm so they could get more blood, poor girl was so upset but all the crying must of helped the blood flow cause she filled up those little tubes quickly.  Her Platelet levels were 216, a month ago they were 174 so they definitely seem to be staying in the normal healthy range and just getting better and better.  The White Blood Count was 16.7 (last month they were 23.7), which they have told us they class has being in the normal range as well!!!!!  It’s to soon to tell but it looks like the JMML could possibly and hopefully resolved already!  They are going to do another blood test in a months time, just to make sure the levels stay where they should and then maybe look at pushing out frequency of the blood tests further again.

Regarding her weight she hasn’t really gained much but they are happy to give it another month of just breastfeeding (along with continuing to try solids) without trying any other supplements again.  The one thing that is growing is her head and that is the main thing . . . we need to make sure that brain is growing and developing.  I’m glad that they are following a special Noonan Syndrome growth chart and if we go by that she is doing just fine but still of course they would like her gain as much as possible.  Here’s hoping that now her body isn’t having to work so hard resolving the JMML and it can focus on growing, but only time will tell.

We are hoping to get some news within the next few weeks regarding an appointment with the Genetics Team from Wellington Hospital, who are hoping to up to Taranaki within the next month or so.  I’m looking forward to this appointment just so we can get the next stage of tests done as getting the results can take a LONG time (most likely over 6 months), so the sooner it’s gets done the sooner we can get some answers.
