A gift of a smile always melts a mothers heart

For the past two and half weeks Chloe has been off the fat and carbohydrate supplement and oh my gosh what a difference in our little girls mood.  She is just full of smiles and even gifts us giggles every now and then.  It makes me think that the supplement really wasn’t agreeing with her and was just making her feel miserable, so much so that not only was it effecting her mood but also her feeding.  Now she back to feeding so well and is actually enjoying it again.  I just wish now that I stopped it sooner and told the Dietitains that it wasn’t working for us.

Feeding is no longer a mission of an hour planning, which would involve trying to get Chloe to take 5mls of the thick paste without gagging or vomiting, then getting her to breastfeed which would take forever cause she be stopping all the time as she would be uncomfortable from wind or just downright grumpy with the whole process.  Chloe is a windy baby so she still needs to be burped during feeding but it doesn’t take as long for those burps to come up anymore or upset her as much.  Cause we now have such a happier baby I want to keep it that way, if she does end up on another supplement I won’t be forcing it on her to much of it makes her as unhappy again.

Chloe’s weight hasn’t really gained much in past two weeks but it hasn’t gone backwards which is the main thing.  Last week the Dietitian agreed to give us another week of just breastfeeding, if they aren’t happy with her weight though they want to try another supplement.  So tomorrow they are sending a nurse to weigh Chloe in the afternoon . . . I’ve decided not to go to the weekly mum and bubs bootcamp that I normally go to on a Friday morning, instead I’m going to make sure that Chloe feeds lots (and tell her she isn’t aloud to wee or poo until afterwards) so she has a nice full belly for when the Nurse turns up.  Fingers and toes crossed tomorrow is a good feeding day and those sore teething gums don’t hold Chloe back.
